OUR STORY
All my life I have had two passions: Baking and Cosmetology. At one point I had a scholarship to go to Johnshon & Whales University in Miami, FL, but I chose to attend Indiana University instead. Through college I worked as a professional cake decorator for Marsh, which was as nice of a bakery as my town had. After that, I went to Cosmetology school. With that choice my baking took to the side.

Years went by, and as I worked on my career I found the love of my life! We got married, I left my career, and I moved out to 29 palms with him. We had a son to make our happy little family a family of 5. This left me thinking about where my career would be now. We are out in the middle of a desert with no clientele built. I quickly started to network and found another military wife needed a cake for her son's birthday, but everyone wanted an arm and a leg for it. I offered to help her out given I used to do this professionally it would be no problem.

Byword of mouth alone I had several inquiries for cakes and cupcakes. Trying to do my part to help out I made cakes for people for the price it took me to buy supplies. While doing that I had another military spouse reach out to me, and gave me a lot of information on how to legitimize my "business".

I took her advice, and here we are! I now have my Food Handler's Permit, Seller's Permit, and on my way to owning Tara's Treats LLC. Now, I have been given the amazing opportunity of rekindling my passion for baking and sharing with all of you!
